چکیده

Introduction Prostate biopsy is commonly performed using a transrectal ultrasound probe through or transperineal approach. However, this not possible for patients without rectum. Case presentation A 75‐year‐old male was referred to our hospital because of an elevated prostate‐specific antigen and suspicious prostate lesion (PIRADS 5) in the left peripheral zone. The patient had previously undergone abdominoperineal resection rectal cancer, which excluded use ultrasound. We describe ultrasound‐guided with cognitive magnetic resonance imaging‐transperineal fusion utility injection bubbled lidocaine jelly into urethra improve its visualization. pathological findings revealed clinically significant cancer Gleason score 5 + 4. Conclusion Cognitive feasible practical technique that does require any specialized equipment.

Target detection: magnetic resonance imaging-ultrasound fusion-guided prostate biopsy.

Recent advances in multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) have enabled image-guided detection of prostate cancer. Fusion of MRI with real-time ultrasound (US) allows the information from MRI to be used to direct biopsy needles under US guidance in an office-based procedure. Fusion can be performed either cognitively or electronically, using a fusion device. Fusion devices allow superi...

Targeted prostate biopsy using magnetic resonance imaging-ultrasound fusion.

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among men worldwide, with an estimated 1.1 million new diagnoses and over 300,000 deaths reported in 2012 by the World Health Organization. A recent 5-year prevalence of the disease was nearly four million, far exceeding all other malignancies in men. Because of these numbers, efforts to improve early detection, accurate assessment of disease bur...

Assessment of free-hand transperineal targeted prostate biopsy using multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging-transrectal ultrasound fusion in Chinese men with prior negative biopsy and elevated prostate-specific antigen

BACKGROUND To evaluate the role of free-hand transperineal targeted prostate biopsy using multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging-transrectal ultrasound (mpMRI-TRUS) fusion in Chinese men with repeated biopsy. METHODS A total of 101 consecutive patients suspicious of prostate cancer (PCa) at the mpMRI scan and with prior negative biopsy and elevated PSA values were prospectively recruited ...

A novel stereotactic prostate biopsy system integrating pre-interventional magnetic resonance imaging and live ultrasound fusion.

PURPOSE We developed an effective way to precisely diagnose prostate cancer using a novel prostate biopsy system that integrates pre-interventional magnetic resonance imaging with peri-interventional ultrasound for perineal navigated prostate biopsy. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 106 men with findings suspicious for prostate cancer (median age 66 years, prostate specific antigen 8.0 ng/ml ...
